Today I invited one of my daughter's friends over for Sunday dinner. This is usually a time just for our family, when we sit around the table, sharing food and stories . I am actually a little selfish with this time- I don't often invite others to join us. This Sunday, however, was different. My daughter's friend really loves to eat with us, so I made it a special dinner, using my best china and my favorite corn casserole recipe. The conversation around the table was lively and fun, enhanced by our guest. It was heart-warming to serve my family and my daughter's friend, as well as to listen to their laughter. Our spirits were fed, as well as our stomachs!
Quote of the day -
"That best portion of a good man's life,
His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love." - William Wordsworth
